Prospects of the development of new types of membrane catalysts are considered. Methods for preparation of metal films on porous supports are described. It is noted that the development of composite membranes with high and selective permeability to either hydrogen or oxygen is rather important. The use of these membranes for the combination of reactions with the separation of products is considered. The probable fields of using reactors with membrane catalysts are dehydrogenation of ethane, in which the hydrogen formed is quickly removed through the membrane catalyst, and one-step synthesis of aromatic amines from the corresponding hydrocarbons and ammonia with the removal of hydrogen through the membrane.
