Decomposition analysis of linear fragments of wavelength routed WDM networks with multicast calls

We develop a mathematical model of a linear fragment of WDM wavelength-routed network with unicast and multicast calls. To model multicast calls we assume that at most one multicast connection of every class may be set up in the system. On a multicast call arrival, if there is a corresponding multicast connection already set up, then it is "attached' to the existing one not affecting other connections. An approximate analytical method to calculate blocking probabilities of the model is proposed.
