Myocardial viability as a criterion for successful endovascular treatment of patients with postinfarction cardiosclerosis

It is defined the role and advisability of myocardial viability assessment by stress echocardiography with dobutamine in patients with postinfarction cardiosclerosis during planning of endovascular interventions. It is shown that restoration of coronary blood flow in the area of viable myocardium promotes faster and better recovery of hibernating myocardium kinetics, what generally increases the effectiveness of percutaneous coronary interventions in this group of patients and reduces the incidence of unjustified endovascular interventions. © 2015, Media Sphera Publishing Group.
