Therapeutic Hypothermia Systems

We report here a comparative analysis of equipment for therapeutic hypothermia as used in a variety of emergency situations. We present facts arguing for the preferential use of intravenous invasive and superficial noninvasive general hypothermia in neurosurgery, heart surgery, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and selective cerebral hypothermia using nasopharyngeal and craniocerebral cooling in head injuries and strokes. Appropriate selection of technologies can increase treatment efficacy. © 2021, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.
