LATIN AMERICANS IN US MILITARY UNIVERSITIES*; [ЛАТИНОАМЕРИКАНЦЫ В ВОЕННЫХ ВУЗАХ США*]; [LATINOAMERICANOS EN LAS UNIVERSIDADES MILITARES DE EE.UU.*]

The article analyzes the US military educational programs for military personnel from Latin American countries. In recent times, the conflictness of international relations system has been growing and belligerent rhetoric is increasingly heard. Washington has mobilized all its forces in the diplomatic and economic war against Russia, including those arising from the implementation of military educational programs. A huge number of military personnel trained in American universities can help in closely involving the Western Hemisphere in the policy of diplomatic isolation of Russia on a global scale. This military staff, due to its high qualifications, receives a leading position in the hierarchy of military services at home, which, taking into account the traditionally active participation of the armed forces in the political life of most states in the region, allows them to influence the general mood in the top leadership. This study uses various sources of mass media, government services, statistical data, materials of public organizations, scientific articles, etc. The relevance of the chosen topic is revealed, a brief bibliographic overview is given, the size and methods of financing military educational programs, the number of students undergoing training, characteristics of military training centers, similar programs operating in the Russian Federation are studied. An assessment of the prospects of military educational programs is given, taking into account their benefits for foreign policy purposes. © 2023, Iberoamerica (Russian Federation).
