Ultrasonic echolocation method for measuring the kinematic characteristics of a three-dimensional turbulent flow

The theoretical basis of a new measuring device is considered. The device is designed for noncontact sensing of instantaneous three-component velocity in a point of open flow. Some results of processing of the measured data are presented (pulsating components of the instantaneous velocities, mean-square deviations, and diagrams of the transverse components of instantaneous velocities). © 1998 MAHK Hayka/Interperiodica Publishing.
