"AFRIQUE-SUR-SEINE": THREE CENTURIES OF HISTORY

The article traces the history of emigration from sub Saharian Africa to France from the middle of the XIX ^th century till present. The objective of the article is to determine the main driving forces of African migration and its general perspectives. A special emphasis is made on the evolution of the African immigrant’s image in the public conscience.
