COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF INTERNET VOCABULARY IN ENGLISH AND CHINESE (ON THE EXAMPLE OF COMPANY WEBSITES)

In this research paper, localized translation of English websites in China is taken as the research object. Combining translation theories and characteristics of the localization of the English website, this paper discusses some feasible strategies of localized translation of English website. This paper introduces the functionalist translation theory and the Hymes's SPEAKING model theory as the theoretical frameworks. It focuses on the characteristics which distinguish the website localization translation from the traditional translation activities. This paper chooses the typical examples from the world's top 500 enterprises' official websites. With the help of translation theories, this paper puts forward some feasible translation strategies, including communicative translation strategies, referencing parallel texts, Applying translation technology and tools, as well as cultural adaptation strategy.
