HOW DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AFFECT TRADE DEVELOPMENT; IN CASE OF GCC COUNTRIES

The world is constantly changing, and in new emerging world order, countries face two choices: innovation or extinction. Today's global economy relies on information and new digital technologies. Production and distribution standards have risen because the digital system allows economic sectors to know the necessary information such as new production methods, market analysis and even the exact position of competitors. Imports of technology and information provide the ambitious countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council with the opportunity to expand their share in the global value chain by diversifying their economic activities. The Persian Gulf region is transforming from an oil-dependent economy to a pioneer in the adoption of high-tech not only in West Asia, but throughout the Arab world, including the Middle East and North Africa. Thus, digital innovation will transform the global economy into a new decentralized order with more opportunities and challenges.
