COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF GAMBLING SCENES AT CASINO ROYALE WITH GAME THEORY

A lot of people all over the world really like James Bond,. However, there are not so many research papers aimed at analysis of gambling scenes in the Casino Royale film and book. Additionally, there are no public surveys on James Bond's franchise with Russian students involved in. The results of the available surveys do not provide readers with enough information about James Bond's and the actors' portraits. The aim of this study was to examine the poker scenes using methods of game and probability theory, as well as to gain more information on the most remarkable scenes of the Casino Royale. We targeted at eliminating knowledge gaps, investigating the existing data and summing it up. Obvious curiosity inspired us to estimate the probability of James Bond's different gambling games winning in the book and the movie. This type of research is really essential as a great number of people are misled by information they know on poker and other gambling games. They think that chances to win are really high. Of course, it is partially true. However, the winning position might be obtained by those people who know all the details which are connected with such games and can use various math theorems during the game process. The survey mentioned above was conducted via Google Forms service to collect various data related to James Bond's franchise. The obtained results were analyzed by us and visualized using various software. A number of probability theory methods were used to reproduce the results of another related research. The findings we got illustrate that all scenes at Casino Royale are not impossible and have certain chances to accrue, according to game theory. However, the chances of the famous James Bond's poker hand are extremely low. The study is of direct practical relevance. Its results can be applied to various experiments focused on game theory or probability theory. In addition, this research can help in gaining basic knowledge about poker and other gambling games.
