From the advent of the first societies to the present moment humanity has had to deal with the spread of great pandemics, such as: bubonic plague, typhus, smallpox, Spanish flu, HIV, cholera and more recently with the mutations of the HINI and the corona virus, among others. For these reasons it can be affirmed that the globalization of infectious-contagious diseases precedes the processes of economic, political and technological interdependence that characterize the economies of the world today. The objective of the article is to analyze the phenomenon of pandemics as a disturbing factor of the geopolitical order in the globalized world, from the perspective of various approaches that attempt to explain the functioning of international relations. In the methodological it is a documentary study that used the arching of scientific sources and international press. Among the most significant conclusions, it is worth noting that, even today, the geopolitical impact of pandemics for the economies and strategic interests of nations that suffer its consequences with the loss of human lives and the allocation of huge resources for Health systems.
