IRANIAN STUDENTS IN RUSSIAN UNIVERSITIES: ADAPTATION TO THE ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENT

The article is devoted to problem of socio-cultural adaptation of foreign students to the academic environment of Russian universities, in particular, the adaptation peculiarities of the students from Iran. The authors of the article consider the research to be important as the number of the students from Iran in Russian universities is growing, the majority of Iranian students getting higher professional education in the Russian language at the Russian universities. The academic communication with Iranian students is not simple due to the difference in the national mentality of the students and the professors. The article gives the analysis of the problem of the students' academic adaptation, i.e. the Iranian students adaptation peculiarities, and determine the possible ways of making the adaptation process for Iranian students smoother as well as the factors influencing the adaptation process.
