USING LSP DICTIONARIES IN TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES: COLLABORATIVE APPROACH

The use of LSP dictionary in learning foreign languages for specific purposes is an important part of students' work with specialized texts in a particular subject field, learning terminology and translation. The LSP dictionary project has been described which is intended to compile individual subject field dictionaries by students in a collaborative way. Collaborative learning has been considered as a student-centered approach, fostering cooperation among students through interaction and communication for achieving learning objectives. Compiling their own glossaries or dictionaries to follow their individual goals and needs, students acquire linguistic and specialized knowledge, develop research and communication skills. LSP, Terminology theory and collaborative learning approaches have been used to develop and implement the project. The main objectives and results have been discussed.
