ANDREI BITOV: THE NEW HERO IN THE RUSSIAN CONTEMPORARY LITERATURE

This article explores the contributions of one of the greatest Russian writers in the contemporary literature Andrei Bitov, who has written several novels and short stories that reflect the postmodernism literary works in Russia. The first post-modernist work in Russian was A. Bitov's novel “Pushkin house” from A.S. Pushkin, the creator of the Russian literary language; the largest and most prominent figure in Russian literary life. A.G. Bitov was one of the first Russian writers in the Soviet Union who devoted to an entire literary work “Lessons of Armenia” to Armenia in 1969. However, his political view against the Soviet Totalitarianism led to the ban of publishing some of his works, though he is being considered one of the founders of postmodernism in Russian Literature. At the end of the article, I will try to look in depth at the stages of development of the protagonist through A. Bitov's novels and journey.
