History of the creation and activities of UNESCO

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) was established in 1945 and is a leading institution in the field of cooperation between states and peoples on issues of education, science and culture. The article is devoted to the history of the creation of UNESCO, the study of the role of scientists and creative people, associations, non-governmental organizations in this process. The authors analyse the main milestones in the history of the organization, the goals and main directions are considered, special attention is paid to current trends in the organization.

Организация Объединенных Наций по вопросам образования, науки и культуры (ЮНЕСКО) создана в 1945 году и является ведущим учреждением в области сотрудничества государств и народов по вопросам образования, науки и культуры. Статья посвящена истории создания ЮНЕСКО, изучению роли ученых и творческих людей, ассоциаций, неправительственных организаций в этом процессе. Авторами анализируются основные вехи в истории организации, цели и основные направления деятельности, особое внимание уделяется текущим тенденциям в ее работе.
