The chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA) used for examination of products of conception

Chromosomal aberrations in the product of conceptions (POC) are detected in around 50% lost pregnancies. Karyotype analysis of the POC, limited by high failure rate of culture, is not always carried out. The oligonucleotide-based chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA) of POC from 303 pregnancies was carried out. The findings showed a high diagnostic value of the test and its ability to detect a large number of clinically relevant rearrangements compared to karyotype analysis and comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) arrays. © 2015 © 2015 Taylor & Francis.
