Synthesis and structure of copper(II) chloride complex with spiro{cyclohexane-1,3′-[1-(1-phenyl-3-methylpyrazol-5-onylidene-4)-1,2,3, 4-tetrahydroisoquinoline]} [CuL2Cl2]·L2

The solvate [CuL2Cl2]·L2 (I), where L is spiro{cyclohexane-1,3′-[1-(l-phenyl-3-methylpyrazol-5-onylidene-4)- 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline]}, is synthesized. Crystal structure I is determined by X-ray crystallography. The L ligand is coordinated to the copper atom through the nitrogen atom of the pyrazolone moiety. Compound I is characterized by IR and electronic absorption spectroscopy.
