A progressive increase in the prevalence of female obesity is reported year by year. It is a well known and proven fact that obesity is the basis for realization of a number of somatic disease entities (cardiovascular to neurodegenerative), but for some reason the effects of obesity on the reproductive health often go underreported. The fact remains dogmatically proven that obesity negatively affects the women’s reproductive potential and obstetric outcomes (both antenatal and intranatal). The review covers global aspects of the issue of obesity, the search for pathogenetic interplay between those, and the management algorithm for women with verified obesity and the associated reproductive disorders based on the current guidelines. © 2025, LLC MMA MediaMedika.
