This article explores the intersection of public relations and political journalism, specifically focusing on how PR campaigns can be utilized to promote and shape political news coverage. The article discusses the role of a specific PR campaign in increasing public interest in political journalism and influencing media promotion, and it examines the strategies and tactics used in PR campaigns to advance the general attraction of political journalism for the masses. The purpose of this article is to shed light on the complex and often symbiotic relationship between PR and political journalism, highlighting the importance of its development. This article presents an analysis of a PR campaign executed by the TV channel Russia Today or “ RT ” that has established an award named “Khaled Alkhateb International Memorial Awards” targeted at journalists to promote interest in its content. The novelty of this research lies in the study of the campaign from RT and the analysis of its results, which could present a useful example in the research of methods of executing PR campaigns and strategies. As a result of the conducted research, the article presents the conclusion that “Khaled Alkhateb International Memorial Awards” as a PR campaign has successfully accomplished the desired goals and has contributed to the increasing of RT's brand awareness among both audiences and other media platforms.
