Evaluation of publication activity and major thematic clusters in the dermatology sphere at the global, national and regional levels

Introduction. Study of literature sources showed a significant exceedance in amount of foreign works, devoted to the issues about analysis of publication activity in the sphere of clinical medicine, over the Russian works. Objective. Scientometrical analysis of publication activity and major thematic clusters in one of the important spheres of clinical medicine — in dermatology at the global, national (Russia) and regional (Moscow) levels. Material and methods. The study was conducted using the analytical SciVal platform based on data from Scopus international scientific citation database by quantitative and fractional scientometric indicators for 5 years (from 2017 to 2021) for the world, Russian Federation and Moscow, as well as for healthcare organizations, which are under the jurisdiction of Moscow Healthcare Department. Results. Main scientometric indicators, characterizing the publication activity for 5 years (from 2017 to 2021) in the sphere of dermatology in the world, Russian Federation, Moscow and organizations, which are under the jurisdiction of Moscow Healthcare Department, were analyzed. Conclusion. It was established, that according to the scientometric indicators, Moscow and scientific and practical organizations, which are under jurisdiction of Moscow Healthcare Department, ahead of the world and Russia and contribute significantly (more than 60%) to the publication thread in the Russian Federation in the «Dermatology» sphere for the period from 2017 to 2021. © 2023, Media Sphera Publishing Group.
