Today, there are many programs for weight loss, including both evidence-based approaches and «newfangled» methods. They are associated with myths about the impossibility of «holding» body weight at the achieved optimal level after the stage of adherence to a particular strategy. The results of large prospective studies have confirmed the possibility of maintaining body weight within a 10% reduction from baseline over a period of 1 year up to 10 years. Among the predictors of effective weight maintenance are individual cognitive factors and a number of features of nutritional interventions.
