Holmium Fiber Laser Generation Switching Using Excited State Absorption

We have demonstrated optical switching of generation in the Holmium-doped fiber laser. The generation switching from continuous-wave to pulsed regime was performed by external pulsed radiation with a wavelength of ≈ 1.6 μ m due to excited state absorption from 5I7 level. © 2024 IEEE.
