Objective. To evaluate ovarian reserve before and after surgical intervention in patients with infertility and benign ovarian tumors (BOT). Patients and methods. This study enrolled 150 women. The study group consisted of 120 patients with BOT and infertility. Three groups were distinguished in the study group: group 1 (n = 50) included patients with endometrioid cystadenomas, group 2 (n = 40) included patients with serous cystadenomas, and group 3 (n = 30) included patients with mature teratomas. The control group consisted of 30 fertile women with 2 or more children without a history of surgical interventions. The hormonal, ultrasound, and Doppler parameters of ovarian reserve were assessed before and 6 months after surgery. All patients in the study group underwent laparoscopic cystectomy. Results. Patients with BOT and infertility were initially diagnosed with low ovarian reserve compared to the control group. Endometrioid cystadenomas had the most negative effect on the ovarian reserve reduction. In the postoperative period, ovarian reserve decreased in all patients, and the most pronounced decrease was noted in patients with endometrioid cystadenomas. Conclusion. Benign ovarian tumors lead to a decrease in ovarian reserve before and after surgical treatment, with endometrioid cystadenomas having the greatest effect on ovarian reserve. © 2022, Dynasty Publishing House.
