Analysis of the situation during the construction, reconstruction and overhaul of residential, civil, and industrial enterprises showed the relevance of the arrangement of temporary openings, trenches, channels, etc. This paper calls into the question of their arrangement with the use of thermal destruction technologies. In the last decade a large number of research has been carried out in order to solve this problem. This article proposes the determination of the amount of the emitted by an electric arc heat according to the suggested equations. The theory of ultralow resistance of natural and artificial stone materials to high temperatures is discussed. The flow chart was developed for the execution of work on the dismantling of reinforced concrete columns and beams of buildings and structures during the reconstruction of industrial enterprises using a thermite-oxygen cutting unit. During the carries out research the heating temperature change curve in the material is analysed. The obtained technical and economic indicators are provided in order to discuss the possibilities of the electric arc cutting utilization. The paper also provides the future appliance and potential of the thermal destruction during the construction, reconstruction and overhaul of residential and industrial enterprises. © 2022 American Institute of Physics Inc..
