Adducts of a sterically hindered tellurium(<scp>iv</scp>) catecholate with diimines

The structures of sterically hindered tellurium(<jats:sc>iv</jats:sc>) 3,6-di-<jats:italic>tert</jats:italic>-butyl-catecholate Te(Cat<jats:sup>36</jats:sup>)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> and its adducts with various diimines were studied; the estimated strength of non-covalent interactions in the adducts is 0.6 to 5.6 kcal mol<jats:sup>−1</jats:sup>.
