Diagnosis of pulmonary fat embolism by biochemical analysis

The authors used the method of lipid extraction by hexane from previously dried cadaveric lung tissue obtained on the autopsy table, and from histological formalin-embedded pool in case of death due to pulmonary fat embolism had other causes, as well as from the lung tissue of rabbits with experimentally induced pulmonary embolism. The possibility of pulmonary fat embolism diagnosis by biochemical method was determined.
