ANXIETY AS A PHENOMENON AND ITS IMPACT ON PERSONALITY

The problem of anxiety is one of the most pressing problems in psychotherapy. Among the negative experiences of a person, anxiety occupies a special place, it often leads to a decrease in working capacity, productivity of activity, and difficulties in communication. This article analyzes personality anxiety, highlights the components that affect its development and manifestation, gives a definition of personal and situational anxiety, analyzes the phenomena of anxiety, and considers the influence of anxiety on personality development. The experimentally revealed levels of anxiety (personal and situational) determine the influence of an individual's anxiety on its development. This review aims to summarize current quantitative studies of the effects of anxiety on psychoemotional state, recessions on depression, anxiety, traumatic disorders, self-harm and suicide. A keyword search was conducted, returning 7,391 preliminary results published since 2008. They were checked by both authors for inclusion/exclusion criteria, as a result of which 52 articles were included. The included articles were quantitative studies, assessing individual mental disorders (depression, anxiety, and trauma/stress-related disorders) and disease outcomes (self-harm and suicide). The articles were published only from 2008 to 2021, are available online in English and using the disorder-specific outcome indicators and outcomes listed above. The results show that existing models of mental health support and suicide prevention strategies may be less effective than in non-recession periods. Perhaps it would be wise to focus public education and medical treatment on raising awareness and providing access to support for the population. The results of this subject field review can be used by the professionals dealing with the problem.
