LE PHÉNOMÈNE SUD-CORÉEN: L'IMPACT DE LA VAGUE CORÉENNE SUR LE MONDE

This review article focuses on a phenomenon that is now spreading around the world, the so-called "Korean wave" phenomenon. It manifests itself in the spread of fashion for everything Korean: not only pop music, TV series, movies, and other forms of Korean entertainment, but also Korean food, household items, and so on. Fashionistas of all South Asian countries even adopt the peculiarities of Korean makeup, eyebrow correction, and plastic surgeries in an attempt to resemble Korean stars. It's not only young people who are fans of Korean fashion. There are many of them among other age groups as well. The purpose of this work is to review articles that examine the phenomenon of Korean culture, its economic impact, and the cultural influence of Korea on the world. Reviews, original research published between 2015 and 2021 were considered to analyze the topicality; research articles from 2009-2021 were used to examine the historical background.
