THE MICROCIRCULATORY BED OF THE HAND NAIL RIDGE SKIN AND EYEBALL CONJUNCTIVA IN PSORIASIS PATIENTS WITH INVOLVED NAILS OVER THE COURSE OF LASER THERAPY

A qualitative and quantitative assessment of the microcirculatory bed of the hand nail ridge skin and eyeball conjunctiva was carried out to estimate the effects of He-Ne laser on the microcirculatory bed and to monitor the therapeutic effect of laser in 10 psoriasis patients with involved nails. Nail ridge skin capillaries in these patients were characterized by arterial and venous spasm and by elevated coefficients of transverse deformation and twisting. Study of the eyeball conjunctival vessels has revealed a tendency to arteriolar spasm and elevated coefficient of venular transverse deformation. Ten sessions of He-Ne laser exposure of the nail plates resulted in dilatation of vascular diameter and normalization of these values, this evidencing a stimulating effect of this laser type.
