REFLECTION OF NEW MEDIA ON THE “ARAB SPRING”

This article examines the role of new means of communication, social media in particular, in mobilizing the Arab street and achieving change during the Arab Spring events, which began in the end of 2010. The author concludes that social media played a significant role in these events, as these means helped in planning and coordination of the uprisings.
