Митрополит Ростовский и Ярославский Арсений (Мацеевич): жизнь и судьба
В статье автором рассматриваются основные этапы жизни митрополита Ростовского и Ярославского Арсения (Мацеевича), причисленного после смерти к лику святых. Арсений (Мацеевич) был сторонником восстановления патриаршества в России, противником монастырской реформы Екатерины II. Служение митрополита Арсения в качестве главы Ростовской епархии было чрезвычайно плодотворным. Он был одной из наиболее ярких личностей церковной истории XVIII века.
Metropolitan of Rostov and Yaroslavl Arseniy (Matseevich): life and destiny
In the article, the author examines the main stages in the life of Metropolitan of Rostov and Yaroslavl Arseniy (Matseevich), who was canonized after his death to the Face of Saints. Arseny (Matseevich) was a supporter of the restoration of the patriarchate in Russia, an opponent of the monastic reform of Catherine II. The service of Metropolitan Arseny as the head of the Rostov diocese was extremely fruitful. He was one of the brightest personalities in church history in the 18th century.
