Статья посвящена анализу геостратегических, политических и социально-экономических предпосылок углубления проблемы пиратства в Аденском заливе. Отмечена значимость данного субрегиона в контексте достижения монопольного положения США в вопросе о контроле над морским пространством.

Geostrategic Prerequisites of the Piracy Problem in the Gulf of Aden in 2001–2010

The article analyzes the geostrategic, political and socioeconomic prerequisites of the piracy problem in the Gulf of Aden. It notes the significance of this subregion in the context of the U.S. monopoly position in controlling maritime space.
