Modeling of rock debris sliding down a slope

Movement of fragmented rocks down a slope mathematically formulated as a solid body motion of any configuration on cylindrical surface. Explosion is used as a trigger mechanism to release gravitational energy for rock debris translation.. The results of simulation and back-analysis of the natural long-run rock avalanches appeared to be rather similar, that proved the feasibility of the proposed method of modeling for practical engineering assessment of rock landslides motion. This model was also used for practical engineering prediction of rock debris translation down a slope for planned high rock dam on the river Naryn in Kyrgistan.
