PECULIARITIES OF WORD BUILDING IN ENGLISH AND CHINESE

The article discusses the main features of word formation in English and Chinese languages. Word formation - is a section of lexicological study, which focused on the ways of word's formation, containing a description of the derivational system of the language. The modern English language offers great potential for the formation of new lexical units. The vast majority of neoplasms are generated by those ways and means of word-formation, which are available in a particular language. Speaking about Chinese language, you cannot neglect its significance in the modern world. And the methods of derivation here are different from the familiar ones to the European reader, because the organization of language is different too. The objective of this work is to study of the structure of word formation in English, as well as to examine the relationship between word-formation in the considered languages. In this study, there are comparative method, which helps to identify the similarities and differences of word building in English and Chinese, and analytical method, which is used to describe the peculiarities of word formation in both languages. During to the research were conducted the features word formation in the English and the Chinese languages and revealed the connection between the relationship between word-formation in English and Chinese by experimental way and make the relevant conclusion. The study revealed the main word-formation models of the English and Chinese languages, as well as to consider their activity and productivity. It had been determined that affixal formations in English are the most productive, because they have passed a long way of development in the history of language. Having considered such a wide range of word-formation methods of the Chinese language, it is impossible not to notice that all of them are present in the daily vocabulary of each Chinese man.
