TO THE QUESTION OF RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH SPEECH ETIQUETTE (ON THE EXAMPLE OF ADDRESS AND CONGRATULATION)
The article deals with the main issues of the formation of the concept of "speech etiquette" and describes the functions and boundaries of this phenomenon in the English and Russian linguistic cultures. The features of English and Russian speech etiquette are also identified and characterized in detail, the formulas of address are considered, the difference between congratulations in English and Russian linguocultures and specific examples are given. The analyzed examples are taken from the British National Corpus.
