TRAINING LANGUAGE AND CULTURE MEDIATION SKILLS IN LEGAL DOMAIN: TRANSFERRING DISCIPLINES WITHIN THE LAW SCHOOL CURRICULUM

The paper points out the cross disciplinary phenomenon of language and culture mediation, pays a special attention to the language and culture mediation in the legal domain. The theoretical background for the university-based language and culture mediation skills training is provided. Language and culture mediation skills are viewed as a component of the specialist's professional competence. The training is supposed to be integrated into the language for specific purposes curriculum module as far as lawyers-to-be are concerned. The techniques to transfer disciplines within the law school curriculum are described.
