Post-industrial urban parks

Around the globe industrial sites in urban areas are increasingly being closed down and falling into disuse. Such sites have not only interesting (hi)stories to tell, but also offer a great potential and opportunities for future developments. For example, recycled and developed for habitation and leisure activities, they may be transformed into attractive urban spaces and parks. Case studies taken from several countries and different locations (Fig. 2) illustrate this and are intended to encourage individual approaches and conceptual ideas and specific solutions.
