Endovascular embolization of uterine arteries in emergency obstetric practice

The article describes the relevance of the application of endovascular techniques in emergency clinical practice and clinical case of successful treatment of patients with late-atonic uterine bleeding occurring after spontaneous labor. The 27-year-old female, 15 hours after the successful completion of the first spontaneous labor spread atonic uterine bleeding. Conservative treatment were unsuccessful. For the purpose of hemostasis and preservation of the uterus performed mechanical endovascular uterine artery embolization microspheres. There has been persistent hemostasis. There were no complications. The patient was discharged from hospital after a week in a satisfactory condition. © 2017, Media Sphera Publishing Group. All rights reserved.
