INTERCULTURAL APPROACH IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING

The article analyzes the differences between the Russian and the British American cultures. The authors classify main principles of British American communication focusing on verbal behaviour in particular conversational situations. The study describes how to train students to adequately socialize in diverse communicative situations and gives an idea about some techniques of the intercultural approach to foreign language learning, which will help students acquire and develop competencies for effective and adequate English language communication.
