Double-curvature surfaces in mirror system design

The use in mirror system design of double-curvature surfaces such as sections of toroids or ellipsoids is discussed. Four design examples are presented that illustrate how double-curvature surfaces could be used to advantage in mirror system design. © 1997 society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers.
