Peculiarities of Aristotelian Scholastic Logic

The article is a retrospective analysis of Aristotle's logic, which had a great influence on the development of logic as a science, and its evolution into scholastic philosophy. With the help of the method of historical reconstruction the author singles out the major elements of logic in general such as the theory of notion, the study of assertion, inferences, the theory of syllogism and the logical operations of definition and division. The article focuses on the link between the logic of The Classical Period and scholasticism and the development of terms used in logic within the scholastic approach of Aristotle and his followers.
