Platinum and palladium complexes with tetrazole ligands: Synthesis, structure and applications

Research topics/studies on tetrazoles and their complexes have been significantly increasing in the current century, owing to the exceptional properties of such N-heterocyclic compounds (e.g., large number of nitrogen atoms, good stability, high formation enthalpy, high dipole moment, acidity and basicity), widespread applications in coordination chemistry, medicinal/biological and materials sciences, with prospects of playing a main role in functional compounds. This review aims at providing a detailed introduction to the design, preparation, properties and applications of platinum and palladium complexes derived from tetrazoles. © 2021 Elsevier B.V.
