EDUCATIONAL POTENTIAL OF WEB RESOURCES FOR TEACHING THE SECOND FOREIGN LANGUAGES

Nowadays many non-linguistic universities and institutes include teaching two foreign languages in their curriculum. Though the second foreign language has the less working load, the students get an opportunity to develop language skills of another language and get the awareness of its vocabulary, grammar and phonetics. Apparently, traditional educational approaches and technologies are not efficient enough for this purpose and a teacher should concentrate on the modern technologies and educational resources to be used in teaching a second foreign language. Here the application of internet resources is crucial. The paper considers the findings of the practical experience of the Institute of Law, RUDN University in teaching German and Spanish as the second foreign languages. The use of special web resources and their role for developing the appropriate language skills are presented. The data of the students' survey are shown. The authors used the following methods: the study of the didactic research and the internet sites on the issue, the analysis of the practical teaching experience; the students' interviews; the method of mathematical statistics.
