Determination of critical parameters of defects in aircraft skin by fracture mechanics criteria method

One of the reasons for the destruction of aircraft are the appearance of cracks of critical size. The occurrence of crack-like defects in aircraft, unfortunately, are not an extremely rare event. To assess the critical parameters of defects, it is proposed to use the criteria of linear fracture mechanics, that divide the period of formation and growth of a defect to a critical size, followed by destruction in three stages. At each stage it is proposed to use your own mathematical apparatus, which will increase the reliability of determining the critical dimensions of defects and determining the duration of the survivability stage of the aircraft. © 2021, Univelt Inc.
