Synthesis of Molybdates Ln3MoO7

The possibility of synthesizing molybdates of composition Ln3MoO7 was studied by varying the annealing conditions and starting materials. A method for stabilizing these compounds by niobates of similar compositions is proposed. The identity and purity of the synthesis products was established by X-ray powder diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, and chemical analyses. It was found that such molybdates of light REE can be obtained by annealing in quartz ampules with subsequent annealing in a vacuum furnace.
