Plane-symmetric scalar field kink-like configurations in general relativity

Summary: "A method for constructing static plane-symmetric solutions to the Einstein equations describing scalar field configurations endowed with a nontrivial topological charge Q of degree type is suggested. It is shown that the energy of these kink-like configurations related to a unit transversal surface section is finite. Two illustrative examples, concerning generalized sine-Gordon and Higgs models, are considered."
