A new class of solutions of the magnetostatic Einstein-Maxwell equations

The authors consider static, axially symmetric solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell equations in Weyl coordinates. Using various transformations of the dependent variables they obtain classes of solutions which appear to be new. Particular members of one class are thought to refer to a Schwarzschild black hole embedded in magnetic fields asymptotically tending to a magnetic dipole.
