Portrait of a modern patient: Signs of modernity

Cardinal transformations of living conditions over the past 100 years have led to great changes in the portrait of a modern patient visiting obstetrician-gynecologist from medico-biological and social positions. Currently, the doctor must take this into account and achieve the fundamentally new level of professionalism, constantly enriching the knowledge with annual innovations in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. At the same time, it should not be forgotten about preventive strategies previously proven, in particular, about the huge, but underutilized potential of educating the younger generation in matters of reproductive health being. Nevertheless, the observed transition of paternalistic medicine to preventive medicine gives hope for improving the general health condition of Russian women, increasing their childbearing, also enhancing their life expectancy and its quality. © 2020, Media Sphera Publishing Group.
