Optical Spectral Filter Based on a Deep Periodic Relief Reflection Structure

Abstract: A filter based on a reflecting periodic relief diffraction structure with a relief depth of greater than one half of optical wavelength is proposed. The input-output power transfer coefficient is studied versus the optical wavelength. The filter can be configured to completely suppress radiation at a specified wavelength, and the spectral characteristic can be changed due to variation in the angle of incidence of the input beam. A method for calculation of the filter parameters is proposed, and a filter that suppresses radiation at a specified wavelength and transmits radiation at another wavelength is calculated. The filter is easy-to-implement in both visible and IR spectral ranges. © 2020, Pleiades Publishing, Inc.
