Discrete time bulk service queue for analyzing LTE packet scheduling for V2X communications

Cellular technologies are promoted by different stakeholders as a key enabler to support vehicle-to-everything communications. In this paper, we shed light into the performance of the LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology in delivering messages generated by vehicles under different network configurations and workload settings. To this purpose, by employing methods of queuing theory, we derive closed-form expressions and provide numerical results for reliability and latency metrics. © 2017, Springer International Publishing AG.
